Dissecting Models in Maya

Stefan and I explored the possibilities of dissecting an image in Maya using Mel scripting. It’s a bit of an arcane language following C syntax, so it was a new language for me to delve into. But the project proved to be very interesting and taught me a lot about the possibilities of Maya.
We successful cut an unclosed NURBS surface into individually extruded profile curves. We then experimented with using those curves as a potential wig of the future. We hope to build the project into a form suitable for printing on the laser cutter to bring our creations into the physical world.
